Meet the Syzygy Co-founders

Two former roommates, dear friends, and the original union of opposites

 

Kailah Bharath (She/Hers)

Co-founder

Kailah Bharath is a product market leader and writer based in Toronto, Canada. With a Bachelor’s of Journalism from Ryerson University and a career in marketing spanning 9+ years, Kailah is passionate about helping purpose-driven business’s build impactful brands, narratives, and marketing strategies. Her work with Syzygy began with a personal desire to facilitate spaces for nuanced conversations on feminist themes that would allow diverse womxn to cross paths and build supportive community. One of her proudest Syzygy moments includes hosting a multidisciplinary artist panel during the Let It Out gathering that explored intersectional feminism, sexuality, and race in creative industries. 

In September 2020, Kailah has chosen to step back as an active co-founder but remains on the Syzygy team as an advisor and continues to foster community through different peer groups. Currently, she is a product marketing consultant based in Toronto and is pursuing new passion projects.

Marijke Large Syzygy Co-founder

Marijke Large (She/Hers)

Co-founder

Marijke Large is a learning and organizational development scientist, facilitator and program operations specialist in Oakland, CA. With a Bachelor's of Journalism and Gender Equity studies from Carleton University and a career in the education sector spanning 9+ years, Marijke is passionate about curating and operationalizing learning products and experiences at scale using design-thinking. Her work with Syzygy began as a desire to create and be part of an intentional community where a "union of opposites" could gather to learn from each other in a gritty, nuanced and honest way. One of her proudest Syzygy moments is authoring a free event guide detailing Syzygy's "secret sauce" so community members, wherever they are, could run their own impactful, well-organized, and women-driven events.

In September 2020, Marijke has chosen to step forward to lead Syzygy's professional services on an on-demand basis and will take time to reimagine what a Syzygy 2.0 can be. Currently, Marijke is contracting at Facebook in the Bay Area as a learning architect, specializing in optimization and implementation of company-wide core and manager learning products.
